to use regional pass / JR whole japan pass (12/25/2022-1/2/2023)

Hi,

Please advise whether should i buy regional pass (JR east Pass Tohoku area 12/27/2022-12/31/2022) or JR whole Japan pass (12/27/2022-1/2/2023 to cover from Zao Onsen until KIX), and whether itinerary below is feasible.

12/25/2022: landed at Narita morning. take skyliner to Tokyo. Tokyo subway ticket 24 hours. Stay at Tokyo.
12/26/2022: Hakone via Odawara day trip. Hakone Pass. Stay at Tokyo.
12/27/2022: Tokyo to Zao Onsen. Stay at Zao Onsen/ Yamagata. JR east Pass Tohoku Area/ JR whole Japan pass?
12/28/2022: Zao Onsen to Ginzan Onsen (day trip). Stay at Tokyo.
12/29/2022: Kamakura day trip. Stay at Tokyo/ Nagoya.
12/30/2022: Nagoya (kkday day tour to Shirakawago & Takayama). Stay at Nagoya/ Kyoto
12/31/2022: Kyoto/ Nara. Stay in Kyoto.
1/1/2022: Kyoto. Stay in Kyoto.
1/2/2023: Kyoto directly to KIX. Haruka express. or Kyoto stop by Tennoji Osaka before going to airport in evening.

Hi Foo Wei Wen,

As you will be travelling through many regions, we recommend using the Japan Rail Pass. In general, we advise a regional pass if you stay within 1 or 2 regions, like Tohoku, Kansai or Kyushu. You are travelling all over the place and a JR Pass is by far the best option.
