I will be in Japan (Tokyo/Yokohama) for 3 days. I plan on visiting Kyoto or Hiroshima (one day) while on my cruise we will stay overnight in Kyoto and I thought with 2 days explore another area like Osaka. Seems like with the various trains the pass may be the best way even though I will only use the pass for 5 days. I hope this makes sense.

Hi there,

Yes, that makes perfect sense! Let's break down your travel plans and find the best JR Pass option for you.

Based on your plan to travel from Tokyo/Yokohama to Kyoto or Hiroshima (one day), then spend two days exploring Osaka, a 7-day JR Pass is indeed a great choice. Even though you'll only be using it for 5 days, the long-distance travel will likely make it cost-effective.

You can conveniently purchase the 7-day Nationwide JR Pass online in advance through JRPass.com. This is highly recommended to ensure you receive your exchange order voucher before your trip.

I hope this helps you plan your trip!

Kind Regards,

Mariko
