Hello Daniel San,

We are considering travelling from Sapporo to Tokyo and to Hakuba.
1. How long will it take.
2. How many times do we need to switch train
3. Is there a night sleeper train from Sapporo to Tokyo?

thank you very much
Regards
Fanny

Hi there,

1.) Tokyo - Sapporo is a little over 7 hours by Shinkansen, and is covered by the JR Pass. There is one transfer.

2.) Hakuba will take 2-3 hours from Tokyo. There is 1 direct train in the morning from Shinjuku every day, otherwise it will be 1-2 transfers.

3.) No, there are no sleeper trains on this route.

Kind regards,
Daniel
