I just bought my JRPass here few hours ago and I'm waiting it to receive it in my address (few next days)
I'll travel to Japan in the next month and I'll be arriving at Narita airport...
What else do you think is essential for a first-time traveler?

1.) Yes
2.) Your JR Pass exchange voucher + your passport
3.) Assuming you activate your JR Pass right away, then you can use it to travel into Tokyo.
What else would be essential?
1.) Learn how to plan your trips, our JR Map and this post are very useful.
2.) You may also want to look at Pocket WiFi or other means of internet.
3.) Plan ahead but also leave some flexibility, as you'll find plenty of new stuff in Japan you could not imagine beforehand.
