Hi,
Me and my partner planning a trip to Japan.
Our plan is:
3 days in Tokyo -> 4 days in Kyoto -> 3 days in Osaka -> 1 day in Tokyo

I thought about purchasing the JR Pass 'osaka-tokyo-hokuriku-arch-pass' but I can't figure out if this pass will be more profitable than just buying regular tickets throughout our trip.

I would like to to mention that from Tokyo to Kyoto and from Osaka to Tokyo we would like to ride on the Takaido-shinkansen bullet train. Is this train included in the pass?
Also, we would like to make a day trip from Kyoto to Amanohashidate, is that included in the pass?

please provide me with any help you can offer.
any help would be appreciated.

Hi there,

The Tokaido Shinkansen is not included in the Hokuriku Arch Pass - if you were to utilise this pass you'd need to take a combination of the Hokuriku Shinkansen and local trains. Either way, for your itinerary it would make the most sense to purchase your tickets individually as your trip exceeds the 7-day mark, meaning that your train journeys wouldn't all fit in the pass' timeframe. Travel to Amanohashidate would not be covered any way.

Thanks,

Alexis
