Hi, we are travelling from Osaka to Niseko and want to go via Mt Fuji. Is it possible travel from Fuji to Niseko in one day? or would we be better having a day in Fuji and then that night travelling to Tokyo, having 1 night in Tokyo by the station and travelling to Niseko the next day? I have been searching for the bullet train from Tokyo to Niseko and thought it took about 6 hours, but I can only find itineraries that take much longer than that. It would be the 7th day on our 7 day Rail pass. Thank you for your assistance.

Hi there,

Going by rail from Tokyo - Niseko takes nearly 8 hours by train. Doing so from Osaka could easily reach 11 hours of rail train on a single day, or 9-10 from Fuji.

I think it would make more sense to break up your travel. Make a stop (or two) on the way to Niseko, Tokyo would be an easy option but you could also do so more north, such as at Sendai, Hachinohe or Hakodate.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
