I am traveling to Japan for 12 days in September / October 2023 and my itinerary is as below:
Day 1 Arrival at Narita and travel to Hiroshima
Day 3 : Travel from Hiroshima to Nagoya
Day 4 to 9: Local sightseeing in Nagoya/ Takayama/ Toba City
Day 10 : Travel from Nagoya to Tokyo
Day 11: Sightseeing in Tokyo, using local subway.
Day 12 : to be decided : maybe a day trip to Mount Fuji
Day 13 : Departure from Japan
Please recommend JR pass

Since you are travelling so much, it is an easy choice - get a 14-day Japan Rail Pass. Especially the trips to Hiroshima and Nagoya would cost a lot without the pass.
