A return Osaka (Umeda) - Takayama is 21,220 yen. Meaning that you are close but right now a JR Pass may not pay off as the 7 day JR Pass is 28,300 yen. However you are very close and if you'd do a little more travel then it could certainly be a good option. You can also use it for travel from Osaka to Kansai Airport which is 1,160 yen/one way otherwise.

Really thanks for your info. Btw, now I had another optional routes. Umeda-Takayama-Shiragawa-Kyoto-Umeda-Kansai airport. Am I close to JR Pass 28,300 yen ?

Hi Jeff,

Kyoto is directly on the route to Osaka, so the fare would be about this same.
For now I think that it would be best to stay with normal tickets.

Once again really thanks for the info :)Now, I had another option, Umeda-Takayama-Shiragawa-Kanazawa-Umeda. Normal tickets or JR Pass. Btw, from Kanazawa back to Umeda is it all the way by train, cover by JR Pass? Is my itinerary routes plan good or u have better recommendations? I just want to make full use of my sightseeing trip, provided my routes are smooth but not too far before back to Umeda.

Close, but I'd still recommend buying normal tickets. Osaka - Takayama is ¥ 10,310 and Kanazawa - Osaka is ¥ 7,440 both routes are covered by the JR Pass but you'd have to use a bus to and from Shirakawago.

While you are in Osaka, be sure to visit Namba, Shinsaibashi and Dōtonbori I've always felt that this is the real heart of Osaka.
