Hi JRpass team,
I hope you are well :)

I am going to Japan on 27/11/2024, and will be travelling for 20 days. Here is my itinerary:

November 27-2 - Tokyo
December 2-3- Kawaguchiko
December 3-5 - Kanazawa
December 5-9 - Kyoto *Day trip to Nara
December 9-12 - Osaka
December 12-14 - Nikko
December 14-16 - Tokyo (with day trips)

Is it worthy to buy the JRpass? If so, for how many days?

(*We might consider and add some daytrips from Osaka..)

Thank you very much

Fernanda

Hi there,

Because your itinerary is spread out the way it is, it is likely that purchasing your tickets individually would be your most cost-effective option. If you are considering day trips from Osaka I'd suggest maybe looking into some of the JR-West regional passes, specifically the Kansai and Sanyo-San'in Area ones, as they will cover travel to Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and are likely to cover the day trip locations you may plan on going to in the Sanyo/Kansai areas.

Hope this helps!

Alexis
