................................................................ My question is..
I am going to buy the 7 day JR Pass.
currently planning the transportation/routes from one place to another.
I was wondering which route I will be using the Shinkansen instead of the other trains?

from what I have found.. I will be using the shinkansen twice on this journey:
1. tokyo to nagano = hokuriku shinkansen
2. nagoya to kyoto = tokaido shinkansen

Other than that, I will be using mostly trains that are covered by JR Pass.
In that case, is it safe to say that it will be worth it buying the 7 days JR pass?

Thank you

Hi there,

I checked your itinerary and likely, it would not be worth to use a 7-day JR Pass here, though the difference is not that large. You can use our JR Farecalculator to get a full fare estimate for your trip.

You can indeed use the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Nagano and Tokaido Shinkansen from Nagoya to Kyoto. There are also a few services directly from Matsumoto using ltd. express trains.

Kind regards,
Daniel
