Hello I am planning my first trip to Japan and was wondering if the JR Rail Pass is worth it based on my itinerary.
Also, if I was going to purchase a pass, can I do it before to prices go up even if my travel isn't until December?
Arrive Haneda 16 Dec 2023
Tokyo (1 day) Sinkansen
Kanazawa (1 day) Thunderbolt
Osaka (2 days) Sinkansen
Kyoto (4 days with a Nara (Day trip)) Sinkansen
Tokyo (5 days)
Leave Haneda 29 Dec 2023
We will be also trying to use the monorail and buses while in Kyoto/Tokyo
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Barry

Hi Barry,
I would recommend a 7-day JR Pass at the old pricing, if you return to Tokyo within the 7-day period. Otherwise, your best option would be to just order normal tickets.
Kind regards,
Daniel
