Hello,

I am currently planning my trip to Japan this coming November and I am torn if a JR pass is worth buying based on my itinerary below:

Day 1: Arrival. Kansai Airport to Kii-Tanabe
Day 2: Bus from Kii-Tanabe to Takijiri. Kumano Kodo day 1
Day 3: Kumano Kodo day 2 (Walking)
Day 4: Kumano Kodo day 3 (Walking)
Day 5: Kumano Kodo day 4 (Walking)
Day 6: Kumano Kodo day 5 (Walking)
Day 7: Kumano Kodo day 6. Bus from Kumano Nachi Taisha to Shingu to visit Kumano Hayatama Taisha, then back to Kii-Katsuura.
Day 8: Kii-Katsuura to Osaka. Possibly going around Osaka during the night.
Day 9: Osaka to Kyoto day trip
Day 10: Explore more of Osaka during the day then flight back home at night.

Thanks so much!

Hi there,

A nationwide JR Pass will not be worth it, but you may want to look at a Kansai Area Pass for travel around Osaka and wider Kansai.

Kind regards,
Daniel
