Is it worth to buy a JR pass for my itnerary and when shoud I buy and activate it?

Hello!

My boyfriend and I will be travelling to Japan in late Dec (leaving Brazil in 17th Dec).

We will be visiting Osaka, Nara, Hiroshima and Tokyo. Kindly advise if the based on the draft itinerary below, it is worthwhile to purchase JR Pass and on which day should I activate it to maximise savings.

We thought the JR Pass for 7 days maybe be worthy, but we are not sure. We will do this trips:

Arrival Narita airport - Travel to Tokyo and then to Osaka
Osaka to Nara and back to Osaka
Osaka to Hiroshima and back to Osaka
Osaka to Tokyo
