Travel plans are as follows end of January 2013 -
Narita to Kichijoji
Kichijoji to Sinjuku
Tokyo to Kyoto
Kyoto to Tokyo
Tokyo to Kamakaru
Kamakura to Tokyo.
Five days in Tokyo.
Is it cheaper with or without the pass? With thanks, Janani

Hi there,

If you plan to make this journey in a week then it is certainly worth getting a 7 Day JR Pass.

Here is a little oversight of prices without the pass.
Narita Airport --> Kichijoji ¥ 3,480
Kichijoji --> Shinjuku ¥ 210
Tokyo --> Kyoto ¥ 13,420
Kyoto --> Tokyo ¥ 13,420
Tokyo Kamakura (return) ¥ 1,780

This adds up to ¥32,310 the 7 day JR pass is ¥28,300 saving you ¥ 4,010.

Hope this helps!
-Daniel
