Hello! Good evening!
My sister and I'll be travelling to Japan in May-23 and staying there for 27 days. Our plan is the following:

May 4: Land in Tokyo (Narita)
May 5: Chiba
May 06: Sapporo
May 07: Noboribetsu
May 08: Sapporo
May 09: Arrive in Tokyo (flight - Peach airlines)
May 10: Nikko
May 11 & 12: Tokyo
May 13: Nagano
May 14: Yokohama
May 15 & 16: Tokyo
May 17: Mitaka
May 18: Hakone
May 19: Gotenba/Fujikawaguchiko
May 20 & 23: Osaka (21 day trip to Nara)
May 24 & 25: Kyoto
May 26: Osaka<> Nagoia (day trip)
May 27 to May 30: Tokyo
May 30: Last day in Tokyo

Should I purchase a 14-day pass or 21-day or none of them ?
Thank you very much! The forum is very helpful.

Hi there,

You have long distance travel all over your route, for example, going to Hokkaido, Nagano and Kyoto all cost a lot without a Japan Rail Pass. Therefore, I would go for a 21-day JR Pass which will give you great value for the entire trip.

Note that additional transport may be needed, especially around Fuji/Hakone.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
