Fukuoka to Kyoto

Can we get from Fukuoka (Hakata) to Kyoto and then Kyoto to Tokyo using our JR Pass. I am having difficulty finding train map that goes from Fukuoka to Kyoto. Also where can I look up a timetable. Many thanks

Hi there!

Yes the route from Kyoto - Fukuoka (Hakata) is covered by the JR Pass. See our interactive map here to see the route.

I looked up the route in Hyperdia for you, you can find more information about it there. I set the right parameters for the JR Pass, so you only have to adjust the time/date to your liking.

In general trains leave every ~30minutes from Kyoto station to Shin-Osaka, here you transfer to the Kyushu Shinkansen (Sakura Express) bound for Fukuoka (known in Hyperdia as Hakata station).
