Hi
We are a group of 6 persons (with 2 seniors) and will buy the Sanyo Sanin North Kyushu Pass. We will be changing trains at the following stations:
1) Kokura
2) Shin Tosu
3) Takeonsen
May I know what is a reasonable time needed to connect between trains at these stations? Is there any of these 3 stations that requires more walking time to locate and board the next train? Thank you for advice.

Hi there,

Japan is very efficient and train transfers are generally speaking easy and straight forward.

Just follow the signs, and ask what platform your train will depart from ahead of time. In 99% of cases, 5 min is plenty of time. If for some reason you may need a bit more, then 10 will absolutely be enough.

All the stations mentioned are fairly easy to navigate, if you do transfer from the Shinkansen to normal trains, then you may have to go through an extra set of ticket gates, so then a couple extra minutes could be good to have. This could happen at either Kokura or Shin-Tosu.

Kind regards,
Daniel
