Hello!

I'll be in Japan for the first time next year with my wife and in-laws.

Eventhough it seems simple enough, I'm having trouble understanding JR Pass'es website. Here's the thing:

Our itinerary well be Tokyo - Kyoto - Osaka - Tokyo (back). I know the 7 day pass is enough but my question is if it's worth.

When I use the fare calculator it doesn't show time and distance from Osaka to Tokyo... Is that because there isn't a line between Osaka and Kyoto?

Also, on the calculator it shows that my "itinerary" totals 197,97USD and the JR Pass would cost 336USD. So, in this case, the JR Pass is not worth buying, right?

I'm so sorry for making a post about something so simple... It's just a lot to take in for one trip so I'm really second guessing every purchase.

Cheers!

Hi there,

For your itinerary it is likely that purchasing your tickets individually would be your best option, as it will come out to be a more cost-effective option. Happy to help ! Apologise for the late reply.

Kind regards,

Alexis
