Hi, we are in Japan from Oct 17 -29 combing for the Rugby World Cup
Arriving at Haneda airport , staying in Tokyo for three days then planning on catching the Shinkansen to Kyoto, spending 5nights in Kyoto then catching train/Shinkansen to Yokohama for 3 nights then train/Shinkansen to Haneda Airport.
This is our first visit to Japan and not sure if we should do a 7 day pass or a 14 day pass, and will we use the pass while in the three different cities?
Thanks for your advice!

Hi there,
My advice is to use a 7-day Japan Rail Pass for travel to Kyoto and to Yokohama. These two legs are about the same price with the Shinkansen as a 7-day JR Pass. Any extra travel from there is basically what you'd save. Think of a day trip from Kyoto to Himeji, Osaka or Hiroshima.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
