Hi there!

We'll be visiting Japan for 12 days, starting with Narita Airport and staying in Shinjuku as our first destination. I'm wondering if purchasing a 14-day rail pass would be cost-effective for our itinerary. Here's a quick overview:

Exploring various parts of Tokyo: Shinjuku, Shibuya, etc.
Taking a day trip to Mt. Fuji from Shinjuku
Traveling from Shinjuku to Kyoto
Visiting Hiroshima and Miyajima Island from Kyoto
Heading to Nikko from Hiroshima
Returning to Tokyo from Nikko
Departing from Narita Airport

Thank you for your help!

Hi there,

The JR Pass covers all of your itinerary, so if you are able to fit your major train journeys in a 7-day window I would suggest purchasing a 7-day pass. I don't think a 14-day pass is cost effective for your itinerary.

Hope this helps!

Alexis
