Hi,
I will be in Japan in April and May. I am keen to get a rail pass, but am confused by validity and exclusions related to some routes and services.
Can you help me work out which of these routes are included? And if I need to avoid any specific services?
- Tokyo to Nagano
- Nagano to Yudanaka (return)
- Nagano to Kanazawa
- Takayama to Nagoya
- Nagoya to Nakatsugawa
- Nakatsugawa to Kyoto
- Kyoto to Odawara
- Odaware to Tokyo

Hi there,
All of your itinerary is covered by the JR Pass, apart from the round trip between Nagano and Yudanaka - however, Iwould still recommend purchasing the JR Pass as this would certainly be your cheapest ticket any way if you were to purchase all your tickets individually at about £6 each way.
