Hi,
I'm planning a trip arriving to Tokyo on November 8 and leaving on November 22. Based on my itenary, can you recommend if I should buy 7 days or 14 days pass. Initially, I only planned to purchase 7 days and use it on November 15 from Hakone to Kyoto and Osaka, Kobe, Hiroshima, and back to Tokyo. However, I plan to make a trip from Tokyo to Kobuchizawa on November 10. Here is my itenary:

Nov 8 - arrive from Haneda airport to Shinjuku
Nov 10 - Shinjuku to Kobuchizawa and back to Shinjuku
Nov 13 - Shinjuku to Hakone
Nov 15- Hakone to Kyoto
Nov 17- Kyoto to Osaka and back to Kyoto
Nov 18- Kyoto to Nara and back to Kyoto
Nov 19 - Kyoto to kobe and back to Kyoto
Nov 20 - Kyoto to Shinjuku
Nov22 - Shinjuku to Haneda airport

  1. Can you confirmed if I should just buy the 7 days pass and then purchased separately the JR limited express"Azuza" for the day to Kobuchizawa? OR buy 14 days pass

Thanks for all your advise

Hi there,

A return Tokyo - Kobuchizawa is a little below 10.000yen, the price difference for a 7-day and 14 day JR Pass is around 17.000yen, so that's just a 7.000yen left to cover for a week of unlimited free travel. I think it's certainly worth considering.

Kind regards,
Daniel
