Hello,

I'm planning my Japan trip next year in March and was confused on the 7 day count for the pass.

I will activate the pass on March 11th to go from Tokyo to Kyoto. Will my pass expire on March 16th at 23:59pm? or March 17th at 23:59pm? Trying to figure out if i can get an extra day in Osaka or not.

March 11th Tokyo -> Kyoto
March 12th Kyoto
March 13th Kyoto
March 14th Kyoto -> Osaka
March 15th Osaka
March 16th or March 17th Osaka -> Tokyo

Thank you,

Hi there,

The JR Pass is counted in days (not hours) and the first day is counted as a full day, no matter what time you start using it.

This would mean that activating the JR Pass on the 11th, will mean that your last day of travel is the 17th (until midnight).

Kind regards,
Daniel
