Hi

We are 4 adults travelling Japan in May
Our travel plans are:
16 may - Haneda to Tokyo
18 may - one day round trip to Nikko
20 may - Tokyo to Hakone
21 may - Hakone to Okasa
23 may - one day round trip to Mt. Koyo
24 may - Osaka to Kyoto
26 may - one day round trip to Nara
28 may - Kyoto to Tokyo
30 may - Tokyo to Haneda

Will we save money with a JRPass?

We want to book departures and reserve seats i january. How can we do this?

Thank you very much in advance

Hi Louise,

The short answer is no, buying the tickets individually will amount to slightly less. However, due to the length of your trip, purchasing a 14-Day JRPass may be an option, as it would greatly reduce the stress and planning time of purchasing all these different tickets, when you could reserve them online in advance with a JRPass.

That said, if you're simply trying to minimise the cost of your trip, it makes sense to purchase the tickets one-by-one. Also note that places like Hakone and Mt. Koyo aren't directly accessible with a JRPass.

Hope this helps!

Alexis
