We plan to travel from Tokyo to Odawara for two nights, then on to Kyoto for 10 nights, doing multiple day trips from there to Osaka, Arashiyama, and Osaka. We are considering a 14 day green pass. Is this the right choice for us?

Hi there,

I can't say for sure, but with the information available I think looking at local tickets/passes will be a better option. What I have so far is that you will travel one leg cross-country (Odawawara to Kyoto) and then plan to do side trips within the Kansai Area. Local travel within Kansai is low-cost and there are plenty of regional pass options available, such as the Kansai Area Pass and Kansai Area Wide pass.

A JR Pass would be worth it if you'd plan to travel a bit further afield. Such as a (day) visit to Hiroshima, or returning to Tokyo.

Kind regards,
Daniel
