Hi everyone!

I’m trying to plan a 12D itinerary for my honeymoon in Japan.

It’s my first time and I’ll arrive at Haneda on June 12th (afternoon) and departure is from Narita on 23rd (evening).

I was thinking about this itinerary:
Something like this:

12-15 Tokyo, train to Kanazawa on the evening of 15

16 Kanazawa

17 Shirakawago, train to Kyoto on the evening

18-21 Kyoto

22 train to Hakone in the morning

23 train to Narita in the afternoon

Do you think that is feasible?
Can I manage it with a 7 days JR pass?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Hi Alessio,

Yes, this would be feasible. My main concern would be Shirakawago - Kyoto on one way in the evening. You first will have to take a bus from Shirakawago to either Takayama or Kanazawa and from there spend several hours on the train. It may be better to do Shirakawago as a day trip from Kanazawa and then travel from there, or add a night in Takayama (highly recommended destination).

All train travel between these cities is covered by the JR Pass, the bus to Shirakawago is not.

Kind regards,
Daniel

Thanks Daniel-san!

I was thinking about leaving to Kanazawa on 16th morning activating the pass on the same day. Then it lasts until 22nd and I have to pay the trip Hakone-Narita (or Kyoto-Narita if I decide not to visit Hakone).

Thanks
Kind regards,
Alessio
