Hey all! Happy holidays!

Heading Japan in February 2024 – Tokyo (4 days), Kyoto (1 day), Osaka (4 days), Nara (1 day trip from Osaka), then back to Tokyo (1 day before departure)

Thinking of Osaka-Tokyo Hokuriku Arch Pass instead of full JR pass (cause must say it's a bit pricy). How do you think, would it be a good choice?

I understand that this pass would require us to follow the full arch in order to get back to Tokyo from Osaka, but i guess if we take Osaka -- Kanazawa train, and then shinkansen Kanazawa -- Tokyo, it's gonna be OK?

I'd appreciate your recommendation, it's our 1st trip to Japan!

Hi there,

Apologies for the late response. Yes, since your itinerary is comprised of destinations included in the Arch Pass, I would recommend purchasing it. You can still get to Kyoto/Osaka from Tokyo with the Arch Pass, but it would take slightly longer than usual.

Hope this helps! Please don't hesitate to ask any further questions if you wish to do so.
