Hi,

I will be travelling to Japan from Canada in May. We are planning the following:

May 8: Land in Tokyo
May 9: Tokyo/Osaka
May 10: Osaka
May 11: Osaka (and a day trip to Nara either May 11 or 12)
May 12: Osaka
May 13: Osaka/Kyoto
May 14: Kyoto
May 15: Kyoto
May 16: Kyoto
May 17:Kyoto/Back to Tokyo
May 18: Last day in Tokyo then fly home that evening

Should I purchase a 7-day pass or 14-day? Or would it be best to shift my schedule so that it's only 7 days of travel outside of Tokyo?

Hi there,

A 7-day JR Pass would make sense if you can fit in the return Tokyo - Kyoto with it. Otherwise, I'd go for normal tickets.

Kind regards,
Daniel
