Use of japan Rail pass

Hello there,

Before going into detail, could you let me know if you will arrive at Sapporo, do you plan on flying in or travel there by rail?
This will help me answer your first question.

2.) The JR Pass covers all rail travel between the above places.

3.) The bus to Sounkyu is not covered by the JR Pass the bus to lake Towada is covered.

4.) No, most bus transport in the places you wish to travel to is run by other companies and you'll have to purchase normal bus tickets.

For Question 1 :We plan to fly from Tokyo to Sapporo and take the rail all the way through all the cities and back to Tokyo in 14 days.

For Question 4: Can you specify in which cities that we are planning to visit will the Japan Rail Pass cover the local pass ? I thought that it is stated in the Japan Rail pass website that the pass will at least cover the local bus in Sapporo. So, will it also cover place like Otaru etc. ?
