I would like to know if it is worth to get the 7 or 14 days pass. I am due to arrive in Tokyo Narita on 8th Apr and staying for 4 nights. Then I would like to travel to Kyoto and Nara for 4 night before returning to Tokyo for 6 nights. So if I get the 7 days JR pass can I use it for just Kyoto and Nara. I don't intend to travel extensively in Japan. Thanks.

Hi there,

Yes a 7 day JR pass will work very nicely for your travel from Tokyo - Kyoto - Nara - Kyoto - Tokyo. The JR Pass is roughly the same price as a normal return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto. From there you can make savings with any additional travel. For instance even if you just include a one way from Tokyo to the airport.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
