Hi Mari,

I will be staying in Kyoto 1 night, Umeda 2 nights from 26 March till 29 March morning check-out and on the way back to Tokyo catach a flight at Haneda Airport at 10pm.

Because this is me n my wife 1st time visit Japan, althought searched a lot info about where to visit at these places, but due to our time spending in these 2 places are short. I really don't know how and where is a "must-go" attraction to visit.

I worry if i plan too many places to visit but eventually cant finish visiting all attraction and might miss out some good place to go.

Would you mind give some advise?

By the way, we don't really like to do shopping, we like to enjoy the beautiful scene and delicious food in Japan only.

Thanks

Hi there,

I think if you're in Kyoto for 1 night only you should aim to visit, Kiyomizu dera, Kinkakuji and Gion (in the evening). If you manage to complete the temples during the day and still have time, there are many more dotted throughout Kyoto to explore, my favourite being Nanzen-ji and Heian jingu, but discovering them by yourself is part of the charm I think.

For Osaka, I think you can focus on the food! Visit dotombori street for access to a huge variety of foods from across Japan. Also, don't miss a visit to a Kani Doraku - there are a few on dotombori for their hugely famous crab dishes.

If you get a bit tired of Osaka (it is fundamentally a commercial city), both Himeji or Nara are around a hour away by train for a more scenic day.

Hope this helps!
