Hello,

Below is my itinerary for my family of 4 in November:

Day 1 - 2 Osaka (ICOCA & HARUKA)
Day 3 - 6 Sapporo/ Otaru / Noboribetsu / Lake Shikotsu and Lake Toya by hotbus / Sapporo (PASMO)
Day 7 - 8 Osaka/ Himeji (JR pass)
Day 9 - 10 Kanazawa (JR pass)
Day 11 - 13 Toyama/ Tateyama (JR pass)
Day 13 - 16 Tokyo (PASMO)

kindly advise if the proposed passes which I plan to purchase are cost effective?

Thank you
Eileen

Hi Eileen,

The JR Pass is very cost effective if you go up to Sapporo by rail. However given the long travel distance, I take it take you will go by plane? If so, I would recommend to sticking to normal rail tickets. As the cost of normal trail tickets, without the trip to Hokkaido, is less than the price of a JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
