Hi,

due to arrive in Tokyo on the 17th April but trying to decide if the trip should be postponed. Anyone have any comments on how things are in Tokyo and travel South?

Thanks

Claire

Hi Claire!
My husband I were un sure about the trip because we're going to Japan on 16 April. We asked some friends who live in Japan and they tell us in the south everything is normal and also Tokyo. I see you in Japan!

Hey there,

JR trains are running at a 100% service south/west of Tokyo, so if you're heading south you should have no problem with transport. Also, as the power systems are different in West and South Japan, there are no issues with electricity supply,

Our Japan staff report that as there is a reduction in tourists, it's quite like being in old Japan. Travel in Tokyo will be running at pretty close to a 100% service, but there will be a little bit of disruption. That said, things are improving - the Narita Express resumes a morning and evening service from tomorrow (4th April).

Hope this helps!
