We are travelling to Japan in Feb/March next year and will be purchasing rail passes. Is it possible to go from Narita direct to Kyoto or Osaka or do we need to go via Tokyo and change there? We will be arriving at about 6am do we need to book/reserve tickets or will we be able to get seats on the day??
Travel from Narita to Kyoto/Osaka
Hi there,
You will have to take the Narita Express from Narita Airport to Tokyo and take the Shinkansen from there. That's not a bad thing though, as you can enjoy a good breakfast at Tokyo station before going on. There are plenty of seats to go around and trains rarely sell out, therefor you should have no problem reserving seats on the day of travel.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
Many thanks daniel
