Hi JR.
Travelling from Tokyo to Hakuba on 26th December this year .
Wanting to use train system and JR. tickets .
Is this possible ? And if so how long is the trip and how often are the trains ?

Hi there,
Yes it is possible to take the train from Tokyo to Hakuba.
There is also one direct train each morning from Shinjuku, Tokyo. See this as example. It leaves at 7:30 and I recommend this route if you don't mind waking up early.
