HI, IAM GOING TO KYOTO AND OSAKA IN MARCH, I BEING LOOKING FOR HOTELS IN KYOTO AND THEY ARE A LITTLE OVERPRICE FOR MY BUDGET, I WAS WONDERING IF ITS POSSIBLE TO STAY IN OSAKA AND TRAVEL DAILY TO KYOTO, I AM GOING TO GET THE 7 JR PASS DAY

Hi Lacp!

Staying in Osaka while you are in the Kansai area and travelling to Kyoto daily is a very good idea and many travellers choose this option. You should expect the rail trip to take around 20-30mins each way using the JR Special Rapid Service which is free if you have a JR Pass.

Also, staying in Osaka I think you have a more varied choice of eating and nightlife options so there are other benefits to doing things this way round too.
