I will catch Nozomi Shinkansen from Tokyo station to Kyoto on Wednesday 19 November.
1. Should I reserve seats in advance for 5 of us with luggages.
2. I will walk from hotel Ryumeikan , when I enter from yaesu central entrance , I notice from the station map that there are 2 sides of the shinkansen platform 14-19 ,they are at north and at the south . Which side of the platform I have to walk to get on the Nozomi to Kyoto?

Hi there,
1.) It's not a bad idea to reserve tickets in advance, this way you will be sure of seating together with your travel party.
2.) You will want to take the Shinkansen to the south, these are marked as the Tokaido Shinkansen.

1. Can we still get on another train if we miss the train we reserved?
2.In case of I decide to stay in other area and will take the taxi to the station to catch shinkansen which entrance should I tell the taxi to stop?

Hi again,
1.) Yes you may use an other train if you miss your reserved ticket.
2.) Ask for the Shinkansen exit (or entrance).
