I am travelling to Japan in September 2.5 weeks. I am gong to get the JR railpass for 7 days. Last few days after use of my 7 day pass i like to travel bit north of Tokio for 2 days. Waht would you advice me to to do and Which transporation can I use . Please advice

Do you have any specific places in mind north of Tokyo? Are you thinking about Nagano or Tohoku?
