We are travelling to Japan, in April and staying four nights in Tokyo, then travelling to Hiroshima for two nights, up to Kyoto for four nights, then back to Tokyo for the last two nights, so we are definitely getting a rail pass. However, we are unsure whether to go for the 7 or 14 day pass, so have two queries regarding this.
1: If we were to validate, and use the pass at 10am, for example, on 7th April, would it expire at 10am on 14th, or would it remain valid until the end of that day?
- Aside from our travel to Hiroshima and Kyoto, would it be worth paying the extra £90 each for the 14 day pass to use to travel around Tokyo throughout our 6 days there? I've heard that local trains can be just as handy as using the subway? Or would it be cheaper and convenient to just purchase the 7 day pass, and just get subway tickets or passes for our time in Tokyo?
