Hi,

I'm travelling to Japan with my partner for Christmas and New Year and it will be our first time in Japan.
I was wondering if I should purchase a JR pass or not?
Our itinerary is below:

Fly in to Osaka
Day 1-4 Osaka
Day 5-6 Kyoto
Day 6-7 Hakuba
Day 7-12 Tokyo
Fly out from Tokyo

If you could give us some advice please.

Thanks

Quy

Hi Quy,

I checked the price of your itinerary and how much it would cost without a rail pass and for your trip it would cost less to buy normal tickets, compared to a rail pass.

In terms of General advice, going from Kyoto - Hakuba is quite a long trip with different transfers along the way. Be sure to map this our well before going.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
