Hi there,

I will be arriving in Osaka on 21st Dec and Departs Narita on 1st Jan... and my itinerary as per above.

  1. My intent is to get a Suica/Pasmo card for city travel + bullet train from Kyoto-Hakone and Hakone-Tokyo

OR do you suggest Japan Rail is a better option.

  1. Can JR Pass can be used on all the subway/Metro/MTR/MRT in the above cities?

Regards,
Foong

Hello Foong,

It is best to buy normal tickets for this part as you will only be traveling one way from Kyoto - Tokyo, with a stopover at Hakone.

Note that you can't use a Suica card for the full Shinkansen ride, so buy a normal ticket at the ticket window. At the same time, you can use Suica for local travel in most cases.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
