Hi,
I read a post recommending that to go from Osaka Airport to Kyoto, we should go via Tokyo. This seems a very long way! Can we not take a local train from Osaka Airport, to Osaka Train station, to Kyoto?
Many thanks.
Osaka Airport to Kyoto
Hi there,
First let's start with some clarification do you mean Kansai Airport or Osaka Itami Airport?
Either way though, you can use normal trains to travel to Kyoto and I don't see what you would go to Tokyo at all.
Hope this helps!
Daniel
Hi,
I mean Kansai Airport (and you're right - I was actually confusing it with Tokyo's Narita Airport).
Thanks for this.
One last question: Is Kansai signposted in English as well as Japanese? We will need to find the ticket office at Kansai Airport Railway Station to validate our JR Pass, and buy tickets to Kyoto on the Haruka Express (the most direct route I found from Kansai to Kyoto).
Thanks for your help,
Belinda
Hi Again!
Yes there is English, Japanese, Korean and Chinese at Kansai Airport. Kansai Airport is not that big and you can't miss the JR ticket office if you keep following the signs with Railways.
Make the most of your trip!
Daniel
