Hi Arriving Osaka airport 8.30 am. Want to get to Shin Osaka then fast train to Tokyo then on to Asakusabashi.
I dont know how long it will take to get through Immigration so we cant pre buy our ticket , Do you think this will be a problem on May 1st ...
What is the best way to get from Airport to Shin Osaka .?
From Tokyo how do I get to Asakusabashi, our hotel is near there?
Or do you think I should catch train from airport to Kyoto then onto Tokyo ?

Hi there,
I don't expect any problems on the 1st of May but things may be more busy than normal due to the Holiday season.
The best way to get to Shin-Osaka is the Hakura Express that travels directly there in good time. From there you can take the Shinkansen to Tokyo, once there take the local JR lines to Asakusa-bashi. Here are some example routes.

Can I use the same ticket from Osaka airport to Asakusa-bashi.
It also looks like I can get around Tokyo quite a lot on the Yamanote line and Chuo line using a jr pass would this be correct ?

Hi again,
There are two airports around Osaka, Kansai international airport and Itami Airport.
I assume that you arrive at Kansai International airport because most international flights arrive there but let me know it is the other.
From Kansai Airport you can also take the train to Tokyo and Asakusabashi, here you can find an example route. It is fully covered by the JRPass.
