For all JRPass forum readers,

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS TICKET IS NO LONGER ON SALE AS OF MARCH 14, 2015 This post has been kept for reference only.

We all know that JR East is amazing! It has introduced free Wifi on most stations, is has a great English website and even online seat reservations for JR Pass users within the JR East region. Now they have also introduced a 1,500yen ticket for foreign visitors usuable on the Narita Express, that’s over 50% discount over normal fares! It is valid for travel to Tokyo, Yokohama and even Saitama, even better is that it can be used for travel to any station in this area, which includes greater Tokyo. In other words, there’s no extra fare if your destination is located somewhere not directly on the Narita Express route. The ticket especially is a great deal for travelers who plan to activate their JR Pass at a later point in time.

A quick overview:
-The ticket can be purchased as of January 10th 2014 at Narita Terminal 1&2.
-The price is 1,500 yen for adults and 750 yen for children between 6-11 (children below the age of 6 travel for free) and is valid for Ordinary (2nd) Class only.
-The tickets includes a seat reservation free of charge on the Narita Express.
-Like the JR Pass, it is only available only to non-Japanese passport holders and it is required to show a foreign passport at time of purchase.
-The ticket can only be used for travel from Narita Airport.
