Hi, just wondering if it is possible to travel from Kawaguchiko station near Mt. Fuji to Kyoto station using the rail pass
If so, what route would I take to do this?

Thanks,

Pat

Hi Pat,

It is possible to travel from Kawaguchiko - Kyoto, however it is a pretty long route.

Here is an example itinerary.

Note that the part from Kawaguchiko - Otsuki is not covered by the JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi Daniel, thanks for the response!
Time isn't an issue for the trip, I've got an entire day to make my way from Kawaguchiko to Kyoto.

Just wondering, would it maybe be easier to head back to Tokyo and then catch a train to Kyoto? I'm just concerned about having trouble navigating my way through 3 transfers when i can't speak Japanese.

Thanks again,

Pat

Hi Pat,

Yes that is actually what I usually recommend for first time travelers. Going via Tokyo takes a bit longer but is easier to navigate!
