Hi!
I'm going to Japan with my daugther (15 years old) Oct 5th-12th. We arrive and depart from Narita. We plan to have one trip to Kyoto and stay there two days, the rest of the time travelling around in Tokyo. Will a JR-pass for 7 days be the best option? As far as I could read from the web a JR -pass also covers back/forth Tokyo-Narita? Or are the better options?

Best wishes,
Ingelin

Hi Ingelin,

The 7-day JR Pass would be the best option here. The cost of the JR Pass is similar to a return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto using the Shinkansen bullet trains. Now you get 7 days of unlimited travel for the same price, any basically any further travel would be free. Such as local JR train and travel to/from the airport.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
