Hi, we are 4 persons from Romania and will be in Japan between June, 24 - July, 01 this year, Narita Airport, 2 nights in Tokyo, 2 or 3 nights in Kyoto, 1 day to Mt. Fuji peak (maybe the night before climbing, in the near due to the off-season), 2 nights in Tokyo and Haneda Airport.
For that, please can you tell us which of solution is right to pay off less, JR Pass, J Buss Pass or none (separate tickets for each route)?
Please, what do you think about where we should be sleeping the night before climbing in off-season: Fujinomya, or Kawaguchi or Gotemba (trail Subashiri)?, in order to use bus (Fujikyu Bus).
Thanks.

Hi there,

You could look at a 7-day JR Pass. The cost of a normal return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto is similar to the cost of a 7-day Japan Rail Pass. Basically, any further travel after that is free :)

I don't have any experience climbing Fuji off-season and unfortunately, don't have any tips to share in this regard. I know there are some guesthouses near Kawaguchi-ko that you could try.

Kind regards,
Daniel
