Hi,

I will be in Japan for 6 days, from September 10:th to 15:th. I will be using the metro in Tokyo and take a round trip to Kyoto. I will fly in to Narita so I need a return ticket to Tokyo city from there as well.

Is the JR Pass the best option for my trips and will all trips be included?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Christian

Hi Christian!

It would certainly make sense to get a JR Pass for this trip!
Say you would do at least to following travel with it:

Narita Airport - Tokyo ¥ 3,140
Tokyo - Kyoto ¥ 13,420
Kyoto - Tokyo ¥ 13,420
Tokyo - Narita Airport ¥ 3,140

For a total of ¥ 33,120. You would already be making some nice savings with the JR Pass (¥ 28,300), in addition you can also use the pass on local travel on JR lines throughout Tokyo.

Do note that the Tokyo Metro is a different transport system and the JR Pass will not be valid there.

Have a pleasant journey!
Daniel
