Hi,
Myself and a few friend will be travelling japan from the end of December to the end of January. We have pretty much planned everything and are now in the stages of sorting out travelling between our stops.
My only concern and what i would to get more information is that would it be better to travel back to Tokyo from Hakuba to get a flight to Sapporo or is there other options?
thanks.

Hi there!
You have 3 options I think for your trip:
- Flight from Tokyo
- Flight from Matsumoto
- Bullet back to Tokyo, then Bullet train up country via Shin-Aomori.
The bullet train will be a all day trip, so I think in this case unless you already have a JR Pass I would recommend you use a flight. Matsumoto airport is the closest airpot to Hakuba, and JAL has flights from their to Sapporo.
Hope this helps!
