Hi Daniel,

I've finally organised my accommodation and just need to confirm the best way to get around so that I don't feel so anxious about the trip.

  1. Arrive at Narita Airport. We will be staying at Hotel Century Southern Tower (2-2-1 Yoyogi, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) What is the best way to get to the hotel from the airport. By the way we are planning to buy the 7 days JR Pass.

  2. What is the best way to get from our hotel in Tokyo to our hotel Kyoto Hotel Okura (Kawaramachi-okie, Nakagoyo-ku, Kyoto) in Kyoto.

  3. How best to get from our hotel in Kyoto (Hotel Okura) back to our hotel in Tokyo - Keio Plaza a Hotel (2-2-1 Nishi-Shunjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Shunjuku, Tokyo).

  4. How to get to Haneda Airport from our Hotel (Keio Plaza ) in Tokyo.

Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Hi Joburger,

The best way to travel to your hotel would be to take the Narita Express from Narita Airport to Shinjuku station and simply walk from there.

2.) From Shinjuku to Kyoto, take the Chuo line from Shinjuku station to Tokyo station, here you can use the Shinkansen bullet trains to Kyoto station. From Kyoto I would advise using a taxi for the first time to your hotel, for the easiest access. Otherwise you could use the subway to Kyotoshiyakusho-Mae Station but you have to make a transfer at Karasumaoike Station.

3.) This is the same route back as you traveled from Shinjuku to Kyoto.

4.) From Shinjuku station, take the JR Yamanote line to Hamamatsucho, here you can transfer to the Tokyo Monorail to Haneda. Takes about 48 Minutes all together.

All these routes are covered by the JR Pass (expect for local travel within Kyoto).

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thanks Daniel but re 2) can we also use the Kyoto subway to Kawaramachi station? Which will be easier?

Not really, it would mean making the same transfer but just getting out at a different station.
